Concrete Roof Tile Racker

PMD Australia is the country’s leading concrete roof tile machinery specialists. Over the years PMD Australia and Integrelec have built a very strong working relationship resulting in many project success stories. PMD and Integrelec again worked together to design, build and install a concrete roof tile racker for a Brisbane customer Bristile Roofing. PMD employed Integrelec to handle all aspects of the electrical automation control for the racker.
As with so many automation projects the ground work is done well in advance of any motor turning. For this project Integrelec’s electrical engineers designed the racker switchboard. Once fully certified our technical staff built the entire switchboard in house. Following on from the board build a vigorous testing schedule was carried out to ensure the build was up to industry standard. Working in an industry where the least amount of downtime is vital to business success PMD and Integrelec decided to fully build and test the racker offsite before onsite install. To achieve this we shipped our newly build board to PMD’s site in Adelaide for our automation engineers to fully test the functionality of the racker. This exercise may have involved an enormous amount of effort considering the distances involved but the benefit it gave to our customer was more than worth the effort.
Our commissioning process benefited greatly from our offsite testing. After mechanical install and electrical onsite wiring Bristile were back running in full production way ahead of what they had scheduled. Integration with the rest of the plant was relative easy because of Integrelec’s previous work in the same plant and our long term planning for programming.
